“Beautiful acoustic driven Celtic music…” - Karen Morton, Celtic Hearts, Splash Radio
Shortly after the release of the album, Camine received an email from a curious Mike Scott (WATERBOY’S) - wanting to hear what they had done with ‘Fisherman’s Blues’. He gave their version of his song and the whole album a thumbs up, here’s what he wrote:
“Hi Z&R,
the CD arrived safely this morning - thanks. I've had a listen and I like the FB version. Great vocals and I love the fiddle style. That's a terrific moment at the end when you do the same wavery thing with fid and voice at the same time. The rest of the stuff sounds just as good.
Good luck and thanks again for sending the CD!” - Mike Scott
Prior to Camine, the twins launched their musical careers when they were students at art college in Canterbury. They formed the five piece roots band Jacobs Ladder and record the album ‘Kite’ - an eclectic mix of self-penned songs and unique arrangements and instrumentals which characterised the Jacobs Ladder sound.

“Highly acclaimed album by five piece contemporary roots band fronted by the Egle sisters. Jacobs Ladder as a band comprise Ramona and Zinta plus Hugh Wisdom on marimba and flutes (concert "C", alto, and Norwegian shepherds flute), Simon Marchant on fretless bass, bass, electronic things and Andy Renshaw on percussion. Jacobs Ladder draw on musical traditions from around the world - old and new, and forge this into something uniquely original and evocative. Self penned songs alongside those of Nick Drake and Dougie Maclean balance with instrumentals from Brittany, Scandinavia, Medieval Italy and beyond. It all adds up to create a classic sound.”
